Psychic (Cat) Reading

We were contacted by Psychic Source to see if we wanted a Pet Psychic Reading in exchange for writing about it. Never having had a psychic reading myself, I was very curious about having a reading for my three cats.

Pet Psychic Reading

Our advisor’s name was Nancy, and I sent photos of each cat to her in advance of our call (the same photos in the post below).  I couldn’t decide on which pictures to send so I sent one “professional” shot and a more “casual” one for each cat!  Nancy was very upbeat friendly, quickly putting me at ease. She asked me the ages of each of my cats and we were on our way!

KIP (~age 11)

About Kip, Nancy says he and I have an intuitive, spiritual connection and share a special bond. She said he’s very sensitive to my feelings and has a well-developed sixth sense allowing him to be in-tune what I’m feeling. She called him my protector.

When she first saw his photo Nancy said, “I wanted to give him a big kiss.  I felt drawn to him. He is very wise, caring, and calm. He sees right to the heart of matters.”
As I’m listening to her I can’t help but think about the times I’ve been physically ill or emotionally down.

It’s always been Kip who comes to my side to keep me company. I recall an occasion several years ago when I had a minor procedure requiring my Mom to pick me up from the doctor’s office and stay with me in my apartment as I slept-off the sedatives. When I awoke, she recounted – rather surprised – that Kip had sat at the head of the chaise lounge standing guard the entire time I slept.

Nancy went on to say that Kip has infinite patience and is gentle with all creatures. It’s definitely the case that when fosters arrive at the apartment it’s always Kip who bathes and mothers them. And he’s always cleaning Haddie, though she never returns the favor!

When the other cats stick their fat heads into his food bowl Kip is the consummate pacifist. He never nudges them out of the way or fights them for bowl space. Rather he steps back and looks up at me with a “what are you going to do” look of resignation.

According to Nancy, Kip views the climate of my home as an emotional beautiful climate. He feels he has found the best place in the world. How can I help but feel good hearing this?

I wanted to know if as my first cat Kip resented the existence of the other cats in the home. Nancy said he did at first, but learned to cope and share me. Often seeing Petie and Kip chasing each other, I asked her who the instigator is. She said as boys, both are the instigator, but that Kip is sensitive. If f Petie picks on him it really bothers him. This came as a surprise to me, but it could explain why I often see Kip running away from Petie.

She did say that generally they’ve learned to tolerate each other.  Which is generally the case, though who doesn’t want their babies to get along rather than just bear each other?  Especially since I originally got Petie as a companion for Kip. Oh well, the best laid plans…

PETIE (~age 7)

Petie Psychic Reading

Nancy called him the “jokester” of the group, which I honestly would have never used to describe him. I’ve always thought of him as more of the airhead!  She said that he wants to be acknowledged, and for a while he had let go of this hope when his brother was adopted and he was left behind.  She says he grieved the loss of his brother and often wishes for what could have been, and still wants to be reunited with him. She sees sadness about him (this made me so sad to hear).

She said when he was left behind it took away some of his self esteem and he’s never totally gotten it back (which could explain his general fear around people he doesn’t know). As a kitten he felt trapped. He didn’t understand why they would take his bother and not him. It overwhelmed him and he lost a sense of himself. He needs reassurance things are going to be ok. Nancy says I lighten-up his life and Petie has faith in me (awwwwww!).

He is skittishness is an effect of having been left behind and not having a sense of where he belongs. Nancy said I have to give him extra love (we do have private “loving time” in my bed at night) and that he will feel more power as the years pass and become my little white knight. And there are those times he wishes that Kip would lay down and sleep and let him have the rule of the roost!

HADDIE (~age 4)

Haddie likes both Petie and Kip and they both like her. She sees something different in each one. Kip is the sensitive nurturing one and Petie is the one she can’t always figure out – which is intriguing (just like humans!).

Haddie Psychic Reaading

She’s very intuitive. Her dream to stay at my home as her home came true – she’s my failed foster and wasn’t supposed to even be here!  She feels engaged (nice to hear since I always feel guilty I don’t play with her enough!), has peace of mind, and counts her blessings.

She feels closeness with Kip, he givers her balance (and lots of licks!). She feels fulfilled around Kip and doesn’t have to question his love for her. Kip has love in his heart for her. As if she is his daughter. If he were younger, he would date her (LOL!! It’s funny because I do call them boyfriend/girlfriend. Never really considering the age difference!).

I did mention to Nancy that Haddie started peeing out of the box when I brought home fosters (which led to the end of my fostering sadly, as I really enjoyed it). She said Haddie was trying to help and not hurt me, because she knew sooner or later I’d adopt another one! This was her way of protecting me from myself.  That’s definitely one way to look at it (another would be that she didn’t want any more competition for attention!). Regardless, she succeeded!

Nancy also said that Haddie would make a good therapy cat and could see me taking her to nursing homes to work with older people or maybe even perhaps sick children. As much as I love this idea, and Haddie has her moments of being snuggly with me, she can also be skittish around strangers. So I’m not sure it’s something I’d try with her until she gets a bit older.

MY TURN

I was rather surprised when Nancy turned the tables and started talking about my future. She said she had a vision of a man who also loves animals and sees me married to him. We’re very much in love. She also saw a little boy pulling a dog’s tail. It seems the man I’m married to has two light colored (golden or white) dogs. And when I asked whose son it was she said it was ours. Given my age this man with dogs had better make an entrance sooner rather than later if we are to have a son! I now feel compelled to ask any man I meet if he has two dogs and oh, what color are they!

Are you my husband?

Are you my husband?

Hearing about my cats from Nancy’s perspective made me cherish them each even more for different reasons.  Now when I look at Kip I feel like I have to thank him for being so good to me (and good in general). Petie, I want to be extra gentle and reassuring with, and with Haddie, well I just wanna kiss that face!

MORE INFORMATION

If you’re wondering how someone can do a reading remotely. It turns out that an “advisors” (aka psychic’s) ability to read a pet or person doesn’t rely on their being in the same room with them. In fact, especially with animals, they may not be themselves in front of a stranger, making it harder to do a reading (I can only imagine what it would be like if someone tried to do an in-person reading with Petie! Good luck!). I’ve actually heard similar things from those who practice Reiki on animals and find it easier to do it remotely.
