I can’t let the day go by without sharing a few photos of cats in turkey costumes. I know it might seems odd for someone who doesn’t dress up her own cats but there is a method to my madness.
You see, when reviewing my website analytics recently I noticed searches for “cat dressed as turkey” was one of the all time biggest traffic drivers to my website. All thanks to the photo I took of poor Cheddar the cat at the Westchester cat show in 2010 (above).
So in honor of Thanksgiving, here are TWO cats dressed-up as turkeys! If you’re a fan of Your Daily Cute, these cat-turkeys should look familiar to you.
Yup, it’s Pimp and Moo! Hopefully you can figure out which is which (think “moo” as in cow!)! But I promise these are not purely gratuitous cat turkeys.
You see, Dorian Wagner, the woman who put these very patient cats in turkey costumes has just launched the Fourth Annual Santa Paws Drive!
Modeled after Toys 4 Tots, Santa Paws Drive aims to ensure shelter cats and dogs have plenty of treats and toys to play with. This makes for happier, more stimulated pets which means – you got it – more adoptions!
In the past three years, Santa Paws Drive has raised approximately $30,000 in toys, treats and donations for 18 shelters worldwide.
This year’s six shelters include Bobbi and The Strays, a shelter in Queens, NY impacted by Hurricane Sandy as well as one in Hungary! So donate a cat or dog toy pack for as little as $10 or donate anywhere from $1 up!
Okay, and now for some truly gratuitous photos of Moo and Pimp in their Santa hat! Enjoy!
