The first I’d ever heard of Catflexing was on my friend GloGirly’s blog. Catflexing is a way to incorporate your feline into your muscle flexing workout.
Seeing that Petie and I both needed to shed a few pounds, I thought this might be the perfect solution, and obtained a copy for myself.
The book authored by Stephanie Jackson, a doctor of some sort (unclear if an MD or PhD) has a 1940s vibe but was published in the 90s.
Skimming the intro, I decide to test-drive a few of the exercises and proceed to audition each of my three cats as potential partners.
It quickly became clear that not all cats are cut-out for Catflexing. Or maybe not all owners are patient enough to invest the time necessary to acclimate said cat(s) to the program.
What’s your take on Catflexing- bonding opportunity or cat torture? Have you ever tried working out with your cat?
If you’re interested in giving Catflexing a try, send photos and video my way (ihavecat@gmail.com), maybe you’ll have better results than I did!
