17 Reasons It’s Easier to Have Cats Than Kids

1. Cats can be left unattended for the night.

2. Cats don’t require a variety of ever-changing educational toys. A ball of aluminum foil or a milk ring will do quite well.

3. Cats won’t ruin your body and breastfeeding is never in the equation.

4. Cats don’t bring home creepy dates, and you don’t have to worry unnecessary pregnancies.

6. You don’t have to worry about your cat being unattractive.

7. With Cats you don’t have to abstain from alcohol for nine months (assuming your female).

14. Cats don’t get allowance.

Number 12 is not correct if you have a 17 year old incontinent cat.

    • True but now I think we’re comparing Senior Cats with Senior Humans!

Thank you for continuing to care for and love your senior kitty!! Merry Christmas !! ♥♥♥

And if you have a 17 year old cat, you are blessed!!! I think all of mine have made it to like 12-15.

        I had one live to 19. . ♥♥♥

I have one human child and 10 kitty children — the cats are all adopted/rescued. My son and I both adore them. The parallels between anipals and toddlers are very similar in the respect that one has a bunch of non-English speaking, but independent thinking purrsonalities running around your house!! But, yes, we also do agree that they are much easier than human kids to raise and love. As far as senior kitties, we use the human pee pads — I have one in particular who will only use the pee pads — does not like the box (he was front declawed when I rescued him off the street). Began using human pee pads before the anipal ones were created when I had a special needs kitty years ago. I have found that they are much cheaper, come in greater quantities, and are much larger that the anipal ones — a much better deal overall ! My son and I wouldn’t change anything for the world !! Have a blessed, pawsome Christmas!! ♥♥♥

    • You too and thank you for being a reader of I HAVE CAT and taking the time to comment!

  • pilch92 .

I agree completely! The only downside is their very short lives , but still, I will take my 14 cats over a child any day 🙂

And you don’t have to pay for expensive weddings! 😄

You nailed it, Tamar. CATS: Better than kids in every conceivable way. 😉

    • Thank you loyal friend and reader for as always leaving an encouraging comment 🙂 =^^=

  • The only problem, my human says, is that we cats never move out to live on our own! Well, maybe that’s not a problem if you’re a kitty – it would be if you had kids.

  • Excellent list. I have minor reservations about a few items, but if you don’t mind, I’ll comment on my blog. I’ll reference you and link to your post at the top of mine, of course. More people, both cat- and non-cat-, should know about your post.

    • Feel free! Thank you for taking the time to read and post!

I must say this list nails many of the best points of having cats as friends. I have, over the years, learned and loved so many different purrsonalities that I now call it an addiction. If I had to live my life without a daily dose of feline I just don’t know what I would do. I have one human child, grown and on to his own life and now I have furry friends. There really is no comparison. <3

    • So true about loving so many different personalities! Thank you as always for your readership and for taking the time to comment!

There are never any “ugly baby” photos to share/look at. ALL kittens are cute!!

  • no one ever wants to see pictures of your kids, but everyone wants to see cute kitty pictures!

    • awwwww true! if you’re a cat lover at least! 🙂

  • Bianca Catlady

I have cats and you do need to change litterboxes! They are not selfcleaning 😉 And yes, you did miss some; 18. With Cats you have no arguments,- they’ll always win anyway.
19 With Cats you are never alone ( They follow you where ever you go- bathroom, toilet) 20 You never have to fuzz about what to eat, they will gladly share it.

    • All so very true Bianca! Thank you for leaving a comment!

You don’t have to spend a fortune buying them clothes as they grow out of them. You don’t have to worry about them jacking up the phone bills. You don’t have to worry about them getting into drugs-alcohol or run ins with the law.
