Miso Handmade Catnip Toys: THE GREAT EASTER GIVEAWAY!

Am I the only one who just discovered peeps now come as bunny rabbits?!?! When did that happen? I was clearly asleep at the wheel – since I live in NYC and don’t have a car, I’m sticking to that excuse!

I’ve never liked that taste of peeps – perhaps because I didn’t grow up eating them – and never felt the chicks actually looked like real chicks but more like oddly shaped blobs (anyone else get that?).

But bunny peeps are another matter entirely. They’re so festive, and paired with colorful eggs instantly telegraph Easter. So when I happened across catnip bunny peeps from Etsy store Miso Handmade, they instantly caught my attention.

Ironically, Miso Handmade was originally a store for dog products. Owner Trish Iriye introduced a few cat toys and they took off! Pretty soon the doggy shop was closed and the shop was dedicated to cat toys!

Miso Handmade products are made in the San Francisco Bay area by hand. In Trish’s words, ” Our goal is to create unique toys with a sense of humor and local consciousness. We try to purchase from local businesses and choose to use compostable and recyclable packaging.”

The company is very active in their community, selling at local craft fairs, and participating in the upcoming Oakland Internet Cat Video Festival where they’ll donate raffle items and sell their wares (including things faux fur plush cat ears!).
