A Fancy Feast: Cheese, Wine And One Iconic Cat

When the folks from Fancy Feast invited me to a soirée called the “Cheese Affair” in New York City Friday night, there was no way I was going to turn down the perfect trifecta of cheese, wine AND one very famous cat (no, not Lil Bub – been there, done that).

And here I wonder why I’m single, spending Friday nights with a cat that’s not even mine! Doh!

Fancy Feast Event New York City

Me and fellow blogger Stephanie Harwin (Catsparella) partaking in the evening’s festivities.

The event, hosted by Fancy Feast along with expert cheesemaker and author of “The Cheese Chronicles,” Liz Thorpe, was an orgy of cheese and wine pairings (it’s a good thing I’m not lactose intolerant!).

Trying to get a smooch out of the iconic Fancy Feast cat (clearly to no avail). Looks like he is vigorously shaking his head saying “no, no, no, no!”

The cheese was in honor of the newly launched “Fancy Feast Delights with Cheese,” and the wine was clearly there to make us me more comfortable molesting – or attempting to molest – the brand’s famous Silver Chinchilla Persian cat.

I thought I was trying to pet him but it looks more as if I was putting my finger in his ear (note my disheveled hair clearly indicating wine consumption had occurred pre-photo).

I hope I don’t get into any trouble divulging the scoop I got on the fluffy white cat, but would I really be doing my job if I didn’t pry just a tiny bit? Whatever job that is exactly, will someone remind me?

After a few conflicting reports, I was able to confirm there are currently six Fancy Feast cats. Two were present at Friday night’s, each taking turns in the spotlight, but I kept missing the second one (clearly too distracted by the cheese and wine) and was only able to molest see Gabby.

Gabby giving us the “paw.” Or in retrospect, maybe he was just trying to shoo me away.

My sources also tell me the six Silver Chinchilla Persians are all third generation Fancy Feast cats , with only one of them being female (I need to get to the bottom of that one!).

Before each appearance they are bathed SIX times (I forgot to ask about the significance of the number 6) and they have make-up applied before each appearance to make their coat look more silvery-white. Hey, maybe that’s my new calling, a cat make-up artist! My parents would be so proud!

Taking a peak at the swag bags

Busted taking a peak at the swag bags!

That’s all I got from my sleuthing attempts this time around. Hope I’m not black-listed from their upcoming events! Perhaps I’ll have to wear a disguise!

If you could ask one question about the Fancy Feast cat what would it be?

As an aside, after the event, Stephanie (Catsparella) came over to my apartment and met Petie, Kip and Haddie. I hope they made a good impression!
