Sweet Pickles’ Designs: Collars for Discerning Felines

I have a confession to make. Please don’t judge me. My cats have never worn collars and are not micro-chipped.  I realize this is tantamount to child neglect.

Pickles has places to go and people to see!

So when Shana Freimark, founder/designer of Sweet Pickles’ Designs  – and mother of Pickles – offered to pick out fashionable collars of each of my fur-kids, I couldn’t refuse.

Even better, she agreed to let an I HAVE CAT reader name a collar in this season’s collection (read on for details)! Oh, did I mention everyone in the U.S. gets free shipping till Aug 6th by entering ILOVEPICKLES at check out?!

Having started with doggy fur-kids, Shana was surprised to find that feline fashions were limited in comparison. As you can see from the first photo in this post, Pickles has a big personality and needed a collar to match. So Shana, did what any good and artistically inclined Mom would do. She started a line of domestically manufactured (Portland, OR) cat collars!

Since my guys aren’t used to collars, Shana suggested we start off sans bell.  She also instructed me to make sure there was room enough for 2 of my fingers to fit loosely under the collar.  And if your kitty is of the portly variety, just make note of it and she’ll be sure to add a little extra fabric!

My money was on Haddie, but as it turns out, Mr Petie Pants is the Houdini of the group. I’m not sure how he manages it but somehow his collar ends up where he is not!

I had so much fun reading the captions you came up with for the last giveaway, we’re asking I HAVE CAT readers to name the “No Name” collar Petie is wearing in the photo above! Shana and Pickles will be selecting the winner, who will also get to select the collar of their choice from the Etsy store!

I’m hoping to convince Shana to write a post for Cat Woman Wednesday, so we can learn more about how Pickles came into her life.

In the meantime, leave a comment here with your suggestion for the “No Name” collar between 7/30/12 and 8/6/12 (everyone is eligible, one entry per household). And enjoy the out-takes from today’s photo shoot!
